the Project Play Community

The one thing that I regret is that we don't have time to read each other's posts. I think it was good that there were some assignments that led us to other's blogs - to read or post to.

And, I can't wait to hear that I won the "grand prize" !!!!

Week 9 Project Play, Semester 1

Hard to believe it's over. Looking forward to Semester 2.
My thoughts about the wikis I looked at: I was surprised that the wikis look so formal (design/layout) -- the library wikis that were suggested.

I do see many ways that wikis could be used. As I mentioned in my post summing up Project Play. Wikis were mentioned at a WLA leadership meeting in which it was suggested that units could create wikis. It felt great to know that would be something I could tackle.

I am considering using a wiki for a page on the OPL website. Right now it's a group of links and text done in Word. It's difficult to update. My other thought would be del.icio. us but the webpage is for an FVTC class and it would be interesting to allow the students and instructor add additional information.

I can also see using this as a planning tool within my dept. We all work different schedules so it is difficult to plan projects. We end up with emails that some people forget to hit "reply all" or serial conversations.
